[...] On the surface, there is nothing that stands out for the JVC HD100. It may appear like it comes with...videos with just a push of a button. You will find that there isn't much that you can record, where you lack control, and this, not only makes this digital camera unique, but also great. For starters, you can record all your footage on to an SD card. They can then be stored until you're ready for a new JVC camera, which can be an incredible savings of time. This digital camera also offers you the ability to record your video to both tape and to a hard disk. With the saving-to-hard drive option, you save time by not having to convert the video data from tape to pure digital. It is possible to save the cost of paying for tape and begin to edit footage right away. However you hold your camera, you'll find it to be super easy to use. The video camera is not really heavy, and the thickly padded shoulder pad is a decent addition. The quality of the video clip produced by the GY-HD100 are truly stunning especially for HD. The video camera delivers outstanding color and shades of gray together with fine and sharp details. This camera offers you 720 x 1028 lines of progressive video at this level, and this usually means one entire frame of the video is shot at a time. The camera can shoot in both 24 frames per second and 30 frames per second. At 24 frames per second, it'll look like film so you need to use this option if you intend to transfer to film. If that is what you are planning, it can quickly go straight to film. Although you may have a sharper image at 30 frames per second, it isn't going to transfer well onto film. With the JVC GY-HD100, you'll get quality video that is comparable to HD cameras that cost $70,000. Even when not shooting in HD, the digital camera will give you better results than your usual home camcorder. The GY-HD100 was one of many innovators in the HD movement, making impressive pics and videos. You ought to give the JVC GY-HD100U High Definition Camcorder a chance as it has options that most people want. You can expect JVC to offer the best in HD since they help contribute to the development of this technology. [...]

There should be a 'cut' or 'wind cut' option in the menu somewhere that'll do it. Other than that it all depends on the model of camcorder you have, if it's an internal or external mic, and if there's something at http://www.thewindcutter.com/shop/ that will help.

You can try to recover your deleted files with Easy Drive Data Recovery software:

http://www.munsoft.com/EasyDriveDataRecovery/

It uses unique modern algorithms to recover files that other software either recovers incorrectly or is unable to detect.

you fool. read the manual for 15 seconds. its as easy as three clicks. come on, don't buy a tool like that if you aren't going to learn how to properly use it. Seriously, it don't get much easier than "display menu".

on my JVC camcorder the USB connector is part of the AC power adaptor. To use it, remove the battery from the camera and snap on the AC adaptor in its place. It is a full size USB connector, not the mini type often found on digital still cameras. The USB only connects to the SD card for downloading still images. The USB does not transfer data from the videotape. To get the video to the computer, use the ilink/firewire connector under the flipout lcd monitor. It is kind of a fat "tee" shape. that connects to your computer.

You need to connect your camcorder to the PC via firewire. If your PC hasn't already got one, you'll need to install a firewire card and connect it to the camcorder with a firewire cable. You can use Windows Movie Maker to capture and edit your footage - it's bit basic, but it'll get you started.

USB is used for transferring stills - it either doesn't work at all or only works badly for transferring video.

There are cables that you can use to plug your camcorder into your USB port.

Software such as Windows Movie Maker, Nero, Roxio, and many others, can open the USB port, "read" the data from the camcorder, and create a .MOV file on your hard drive.

Once there, you burn a DVD from the .MOV file.

Good luck.

You need to connect the camcorder to your computer using a firewire cable....to edit, import the video using a video editing program.

Here's a helpful guide:
